Old Work, New Work, Long Drive, New Home (home on the range)
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted, and many miles have been travelled and (once again) my life has been flip-flooped around. Last week I made the move to Montana to work on a small diversified veggie farm. Currently I am nestled in between the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains, chipping away at creative work and leaning in heavily to a farm season in full swing. Willa has been loving all the quail and deer at cattle friends during our walks.
I’ve managed to get (almost) caught up with my plein air sketchbook I started in Maine. I keep adding new pages, and will likely start sharing monthly or so once I really finish those from blueberry harvest. This batch is largely from weekend adventure in Baxter State park (I went skinny dipping AND saw a moose!), and Acadia National Park. I was there for a mere month but Maine has a special place in my heart now, and I am incredibly grateful for the space I had to do some deep thinking and figuring myself out.
Onward to NEW STUFF: I’m super stoked to share that my podcast “LETTERS TO GEORGIA” is nearing publication! I’ve got the first few episodes written up and am recording the first episode this afternoon after a thorough hydration. Come follow Rachel along as she juggles home ownership, country living and a mysterious blue mailbox whose contents may or may not alter reality!
I’ve also launched a Ko-fi page where folks can help maintain my caffeination levels to keep juggling all these projects if they’d like! I share all my work there with little stories, lots of dog pictures (of course!), and other bits and bobs of writing that might not make it over here- gotta keep y’all on your toes.
Naturally I’ve been lagging on my 100 Days of Haiku, because something has to give somewhere, but expect to pick that up again and as soon as I have the next ten or so down in ink I’ll be sharing them here (and on my Twitter!)
Anddddd, I think that’s it. Now that I’ve had a week to settle in I would like to start posting more frequently here, maybe twice a week or so. Farm work is exhausting though so we will see! XO Sabrina
