Hello there.

Welcome to the blog! Here’s where I share travel and adventure bits, Willa bobs, illustrative work and anything else that floats my boat!

Enjoy your visit!

The delights of spring

The delights of spring

It’s happening. Spring is emerging here in the Bitterroot like the groggy rousing after a particularly long nap. Day by day, in between the still persistent bands of snow that swoop down the valley the hilly Sapphires and rugged Bitterroot Mountains are slowly, so slowly, greening. In the caterpillars the first daffodils have popped, showering the farm stand with bouquets of sunshine, and the tulips aren’t far behind.

The return of real, solid sunlight has shaken away the last clogs of winter slumps that cling to my boots every year like muddy taffy. I have been spending significantly more time with my paints- both old watercolor and new jelly gouache, notebooks are filling with prose and songs, and in an unholy juxtaposition, my laptop fills with tales of terror and animals that honestly have no need of millipede-ing.

Letters to Georgia is also chugging steadily along, fueled by caffeine and a few fervent followers. I am unfortunately still lagging behind on the accompanying coloring pages, but spring farm work is kicking my tail end right now and digital art always takes much more oomph for me to get going on. They are on the way though, currently all sketched out and awaiting final line work and tidying.

I have also found myself infatuated with solo TTRPGs (table top role playing games- think Dungeons and Dragons), and true to form have started designing one of my own- what better way to learn about something than to recreate the wheel for yourself?- based on childhoods hunting down and climbing fire towers in the Adirondacks. Progress will be slow, but I intend to share my progress here and on my other socials.

Stay sunny, Sabrina
